Specialty refinishing and rust-prevention for metal roofs
Metal roofs are durable, but the factory finish eventually chalks out and rust starts at the seams and fastener heads. Repainting a metal roof with the right rust-inhibiting primer and elastomeric topcoat protects the metal, refreshes the color, and adds reflectivity at a fraction of replacement cost.
What we paint
- Standing-seam metal roofs
- Corrugated metal roofs and patio covers
- Galvalume and Galvanized sheet roofing
- Metal flashings, parapet caps, and roof-edge metal
- Metal gutters and downspouts as part of the same job
Our process
Wash to remove chalk, dust, and biological growth. Wire-brush or sand any rust spots back to sound metal. Spot-prime rusted areas with a direct-to-metal rust-inhibiting primer. Two coats of acrylic or elastomeric topcoat across the full field. The result is a metal roof that looks new and is sealed against further oxidation.
How long it lasts
A properly-prepped and topcoated metal roof typically holds the finish for 10 to 15 years before needing a re-coat. The key is the prep: skipping the rust treatment is the single biggest reason metal roof paint jobs fail early.
